Goodbye 2009 - Welcome 2010

The school year 2009 has come to a close. Much has happened and we have seen the children blossom, the shy ones have come out of their shell, learning to make friends, those who are not able to read has progressed in their reading skills, many hands are now steady to produce nice writing.

All these skills are developed through play as we believe in the concept of 'play to learn'. Education does not evolve around books alone nor does it take place only at school, it can take place at the playground, at home, at the supermarkets and anywhere you take your children to. Expand their minds and vocabulary through communication and the child will learn that there is no boundary in learning.

We see the children moving one step at a time in the milestone of their lives and that is the beauty of child development. Children are individuals yearning to grow and do all the 'adult things' but they have to be guided and we at school, as educators try to provide as much support. Concurrently at home, parents help to nurture children by providing a conducive and positive home environment allowing room for development.

We hope for a more exciting 2010 and for those entering the 'big school', we wish them well and hope they will enjoy the next phase of their lives. Thanks to mums who have contributed food, drinks and snacks for our farewell party.

Class of 2009

Here we have the graduates of 2009, 15 of them, 10 boys and 5 girls. More than half will be attending SK USJ20 in 2010, they shall meet again.
We believe we have prepared them sufficiently, although some are further ahead than where they should be, but then again, each child is different and at Tunas Suria we nurture each child's development and progress according to their capability.
We facilitate the children's learning and development, and together with parents, we create individuals who are confident and independent with a positive attitude towards learning and life.

Graduation Concert 2009

21st November 2009 at 10am, we had our Graduation Concert 2009, again this year it was held at Dewan Kencana of SK USJ20. The weather was great and being mid-morning, the children were fresh and spritely, too spritely actually.
The children sang and danced from songs in the movies like "Tomorrow" from the movie Annie, "Under the sea" from the movie The Little Mermaid, "Do Re Mi" from the movie The Sound of Music and "Jai Ho" from the movie The Slumdog Millionaire.
The emcees for the programme were Muhd Afiq and Iman Sofea, our afterschoolers who are now in Standard 3. Our performers were as young as 3 year olds and it shows that with some encouragement and guidance, they are able to perform. We open opportunities like these for the youngsters to develop their skills and talent through participation in concerts.
This year we had a special performance from Uncle Abdul Karim, who played his guitar and the mums and dads performed too! We'll put up pictures of the performing mums in another entry.
Memories of 21st November 2009 have been captured in photos and video for us to relive whenever we want.
