Photos and Video

Hi Parents

I just remembered, finally I have printed the official photos, courtesy of En Iskandar - Sofea's dad. Unfortunately I cannot upload all the photos on to the blogpage, so the official album is now ready. There are some personal photos which I will mail direct to the parents, to view the official album, do drop by when school starts to have a look.

For the graduating class, I will make copies of the children's photos in their robes and whilst receiving their scrolls and will let you know when it is ready.

When the video is ready, I will notify you too.

Parenting Website

Hi Parents

http://www.mypositiveparenting.org/

Aunty Huda is bored! No children to run around with! I have been updating myself on past issues of tv sitcoms/serials and newspapers. And in today's Mingguan Malaysia I came across an article about 'PNEUMOKOKUS - any child related disease is interesting to me. Anyway this article was adapted from Positive Parenting Program managed by Malaysian Paediatric Association. Do read up this article as our child may have symptoms related to the disease which we are not aware of.

Visit the website which is rather interesting and has lots of information on children and child development. Let's help ourselves help our children.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Year end

The year 2007 is drawing to a close.

We take this opportunity to wish the six year olds, all the best as they venture into the next step of their journey in the 'big school'. We believe we have prepared them well enough and with your support parents, we are confident they will be fine.

As for the other children, the journey at Tunas Suria continues into 2008 and we hope this coming year will be more fun and enjoyable.

We will see you back at school on Wednesday 2nd January 2008.

Happy Holidays .....

Water Play - Tuesday 18th December 2007

Its water play time, something the children look forward to always. Despite the gloomy weather, the children were all excited and some came as early as 7.30am! Since so many were around, we started the ball rolling by 8.00am.....

It was the slide or the pool and lots of water all around.

We teachers know how to have fun too. It was de-stress time for us as much as it is for the children.

Visit to Balai Bomba Subang Jaya

This firetruck costs RM1.3million! It is fitted with the latest, state of the art technology to help our fireman put out fire and carry out rescue missions.

We set off in the school bus on this lovely Friday morning, the excitement of getting to ride on the bus written all over their faces. Pak Awang the bus driver drove ever so carefully and we arrived safe and sound at Balai Bomba Subang Jaya.

We were given a briefing on the operations at the station and the children were given workbooks related to bomba activities. Many of the children want to be fireman, so they said when asked. Then we were told the night before the firemen caught a snake at a house in USJ20! I am sure they thought twice about it after that, you will see why later ...

We were then taken outside to see the firetruck and shown the various things on the truck like hose, pumps, valves, ladders, masks, nozzles etc etc lots of new vocabulary and of course uncle fireman demonstrated the siren sound ... music to the ears. Then the kids got to climb into (lifted into) the firetruck, it was so high - actually the wheel of the truck is as high as our 4-year olds, just imagine climbing up into the truck will be like climbing mini Mount Everest. The fireman demonstrated spiralling down the pole from the upper floor. The children got to try on the fireman's fireproof jackets with helmets.

The highlight was the demonstration how the fireman caught the snake ... after seeing the snake I am sure a few changed their minds about being fireman.

Thee Day

Dear Parents

Thank you for attending the concert together with family and relatives. I saw grandpas, grandmas, aunts, uncles and cousins all over the hall. I do hope you enjoyed what was presented to you.

Special thanks to En Masri and Pn Raja Shyra (Puteri Aina's parents) for doing up the backdrop banner. En Iskandar Dzulkarnain (Sofea's dad, she reminded me her dad's name has a D before Z) for taking the photos, En Muazzam (Nursarah's dad) who operated the videocam - which he said he 'bidan terjun', am sure it will be good. Kak Syikin (Irfan Hamdi's grandma) who cooked the food and Pn Sayrina (Sara K's mum) for the curry puffs, they were yummy.

We only guided the children, but it was they who put up the performance - special applause for their efforts. Most of what you saw happened just as we practiced (hmm....didnt Aunty Val said that too?).

Life is about learning and living - they learn and they live to tell. We hope photos of the events will help keep memories of the event fresh in their minds.

Lets hope in the future concerts we will have active parents participation in the frontline as well as backstage.

These photos were taken by my niece, Lulu - who came to visit - she fell in love with the children. I said how not to when the children are all so cute and they love the attention she gave them. Official photos and VCD will be shown / for sale when ready ... soon.

Meantime, smile at what was captured on our lenses yesterday.

Aunty Huda

Rehearsals

Despite the rainy morning, the children were all excited about the rehearsals. We had a full attendance today - yeah!
