Education

Hi Parents

I heard on radio on about a website that can help parents find out more about Pre-school, Primary School, Secondary School as well as tertiary institutions. Many first time mummies may need help in the area of education for their children. Do go to http://www.ekl.gov.my and go to mygovernment - what attracted me about the advertisement is that you can actually register your child for school through this site ie. for Klang Valley areas. You can also find out the curriculum for pre-school and primary school.

An article in The Sunday Star of 8th June 2008 "Can't learn this ... " on page 8 of FIT4LIFE Section (SF7) gives an insight into several areas of learning disabilities. Though each child's learning ability differs, knowing our child's capability and incapability helps us provide early intervention thus helping our child in their life long journey of learning.

Also for new mums I found an interesting website : http://freshbots.com - environmental friendly, washable diapers - it's all about the environment.

Emilie said to me on the eve of the petrol price increase "what will be the price of petrol by the time I can have a car?" She is 16 this year .... so let's try to help conserve mother nature's resources, plant more trees and reduce pollution, so our future generation will still have something to appreciate and enjoy.

Factory Visit

The day has finally arrived, 4th June 2008, a promised made has to be fulfilled. The children have been on their best behaviour and came to school early as expected. Beryl's Chocolate factory is located at the Seri Kembangan Industrial Estate, Serdang.

Getting there you can use the LDP towards UPM, go straight all the way till you see the factory building on the right.

We arrived exactly at 9am in a school bus and the school's van. The first view is the drum, we had no idea what it is, till later.

The programme began with a video presentation to show how chocolate is processesed. Beryl's chocolate uses cocoa imported from Ghana, other ingredients are locally obtained. Ingredients used are cocoa butter, palm oil, sugar and milk powder. A conching machine is used to mix all the ingredients together. The drum is used to make chocolate balls with assorted nuts or raisins in it.

We get to sample some chocolates before shopping for it. The variety is really wide though some are not on the supermarket shelves.

For example this one ..... got to try to experience a chocolate
with chilly flavour.

Now, what is this cow doing here? This is a display item on the grounds of the factory.

And when the shopping is all done, it's time to go home.

These are some other candid shots of the children.
Till the next trip.

It's the holidays

It's the holidays!!! Time for aunties to take a break ... as for parents, take some time off to be with your kids.

I would like to thank parents who have been so thoughtful in giving us Teacher's Day presents, it sure feels good to be appreciated.
We didn't have a party to end the term but we had 2 parties - Amir's 3rd birthday and Syahmie's 5th birthday ... when it comes to birthday cakes, just look at the faces of anticipation ....
There are some additional features on the blogpage which I hope will be handy to you and if you do have more ideas to share, do drop a line.

Beryl's Chocolate Factory

The kids are so excited that we have planned this visit - of course - a chocolate factory .... the word chocolate has made their mouth water, they really don't know what they are in for! Parents, be forewarned that they will be bugging you that the trip is tomorrow, tomorrow ... till the day comes.

Lyssa had her sixth birthday party at school recenly. Mmm .... don't you think the cupcakes are so yummy. I am amazed at the talent of the baker who manages to draw Strawberry Shortcake's Face on the tiny cups .... wow.
Just to remind parents, we will be having a short break from 24th May to 1st June. We will be back at school on 2nd June 2008 hopefully recharged and raring to go.
We will be also meeting up with parents to discuss your child's performance since beginning of the year and any other matters pertaining your child's progress and development.
Till next time ...

Activities

Hello Parents

Yes, yes it's been a while but I am still alive and kicking. No excuses actually not to update the blog but really but I did have problems - I couldn't access the website and the camera broke ...

Of course we had a couple of birthdays which I couldn't record because of the reasons I mentioned above but here I have included some photos of children who celebrated their birthdays in the past month.

Heres Adieb Ramzy celebrating his 5th birthday, Aiman Hakim with his CARS cake celebrating his 5th birthday and Nuqman Aqeef celebrating his 4th birthday.

We would like to inform the following activities that will be taking place this year :-
1. Visit to Beryl's Chocolate Factory (4th June 2008, confirmed)
2. Visit to MPSJ Kompleks 3C at Subang Jaya - theres a mini zoo and art gallery there
3. Visit to Faber Castell or Walls factory (September)

I will be giving you notes about these visits in the children's message books nearer the date, so do look out for it.

Till the next blog - soon, I hope.

February 2008

Hello parents

We are now entering the second month of the year, all too soon. I am glad to inform that the children have settled down, most of the kinks have been ironed out.

Recently Muhd Miim celebrated his 3rd birthday party at school and lots of stuff were given in the goodie bag and the children were also treated to pulut kuning and rendang!

Speaking of goodie bag, I would like to share the following site : www.createmyowngift.blogspot.com just in case you are looking for some special things for birthday parties and even weddings.

Till more birthday parties .......
