Factory Visit

The day has finally arrived, 4th June 2008, a promised made has to be fulfilled. The children have been on their best behaviour and came to school early as expected. Beryl's Chocolate factory is located at the Seri Kembangan Industrial Estate, Serdang.

Getting there you can use the LDP towards UPM, go straight all the way till you see the factory building on the right.

We arrived exactly at 9am in a school bus and the school's van. The first view is the drum, we had no idea what it is, till later.

The programme began with a video presentation to show how chocolate is processesed. Beryl's chocolate uses cocoa imported from Ghana, other ingredients are locally obtained. Ingredients used are cocoa butter, palm oil, sugar and milk powder. A conching machine is used to mix all the ingredients together. The drum is used to make chocolate balls with assorted nuts or raisins in it.

We get to sample some chocolates before shopping for it. The variety is really wide though some are not on the supermarket shelves.

For example this one ..... got to try to experience a chocolate
with chilly flavour.

Now, what is this cow doing here? This is a display item on the grounds of the factory.

And when the shopping is all done, it's time to go home.

These are some other candid shots of the children.
Till the next trip.
